Bunk Beds With Futon
Bunk Beds With Futon Offer A Multitude Of Options To Your
Child's Room
If you are considering upgrading your child's bedroom, you may find
that you are limited on space particularly if there is more than
one child in the home. So what do you do if you want to provide
your child with a place for guests to sleep and you find you do not
have room for both a bed and guest bed, but desire to have a
standard bunk bed? Well bunk beds with futon built into them are a
great option to the conventional bedroom furniture.
Children's bunk beds are an idea that has been around since the
first time somebody decided to stack one twin bed on top of
another. The idea probably originated with the military. The Army
originally started to stack beds to conserve on space required for
sleeping quarters for the troops, eventually this idea was adapted
by the navy, since sleeping space aboard a ship is extremely
limited.
At some point in the middle of the 20th century furniture companies
adapted this idea for the private sector and starting offering bunk
beds as an option to conventional twin beds, eventually this idea
expanded to include modular beds with multiple functions such as
bunk beds with futon.
The great thing about a futon built into a bunk bed is that it
offers a variety of functions from one piece of furniture. The
futon itself is a Japanese idea that originally referred to a
traditional bed. This bed was pliable enough that it could be
folded and stored away during the day. The traditional futon
consisted of two parts the shikibuton or bottom mattress and a
kekebuton, which is a thick quilted bed cover. This idea was
eventually adapted by the western civilization but typically has a
few major differences over its Japanese cousin. Typically the frame
folds allowing the futon to be used as a couch and flattens again
to be used as a bed.
In the case of bunk beds with futon this idea has been carried one
step further. This adjustable bed has been attached to an upper
bunk. The bunk bed with a futon built in is a great way to provide
a coach when you want it and an extra bed when you need it.
Your child will take pride in having their very own space complete
with a couch and a bed. Nothing can make them feel less like a baby
and more like a BIG kid then to know they have a space that belongs
to just them. So they can have a friend stay the night. They will
probably even want to show little Johnny down the street how their
bed has a couch or a bed, even if they can't say the word
futon.
The convenience a futon has of being able to convert to a couch or
a bed adds a great extra to that bunk bed and with bunk beds with
futon you get an affordable and intelligent choice when it comes
time to upgrade little Tommy or Sara's room and the fact that these
beds are made typically to meet or exceed industry standard safety
requirements will allow you to rest knowing your child will be
safe.
